Onions
Background:
Momack has been exporting Tasmanian Cream Gold variety onions for the last ten years. Tasmanian onions have an international reputation for their quality and long shelf life, far exceeding that of mainland onions.
Production Area:
Our onions are grown in the rich volcanic soils of Scottsdale in the NE of Tasmania. Scottsdale is approx. 60km north east of Launceston.
Export Onions:
Cream Gold onions are generally exported under the following sizes, basis diameter in mm:
- 35/50
- 40/60
- 50/70
- 60/70
- 65/75
- 60/80
- 70/90
- 80/100
Packing: We export Tasmanian onions under the "Devil Fresh" brand, either packed in 15, 20, 25kg bags, or 1,250kg bulk bags.
Availability:
Late February to July.

Shipment Details: All our onions are exported in 40ft fantainers, ie. containers with a fan attached to circulate the air within the container.
